Lines and Pots

I always look at older houses as I love seeing the different brickwork and windows. This one has telephone lines stringing merrily from pole to roof top, a relic of a bygone era. The chimney pots are typically plain probably as anything more decorative would have been prohibitively expensive on a terrace.
There's a lot to be said for older housing, certainly having seen a 1970s terrace nearby it is clear this one will still be standing long after the newer one is demolished. Having said that, my daughter lived in something similar, briefly, and was sending home readings of 80% relative humidity and a temperature of 11 degrees. None-the-less the chimney pots are attractive, and given the current state of house building maybe what's needed it to look at housing like this and where it has problems with damp, bring it up to an acceptable standard. Affordable housing in the real sense of the word.
