West Connex

Was out on the bike this morning and grabbed this image at Homebush on the M4.  The WestConnex project is a major road project funded by both the NSW State Government and the Federal Government.  It involves tunnels and interchanges with a total length of around 33 kilometres.  The political ramifications have been significant - the areas impacted are mostly left wing Inner-West people and those which may benefit are mostly of an alternate leaning.

My view is that it is a conservative short term approach.  The money would have been better spent in a Very Fast Train to the foot of the Blue Mountains but then I am an Inner Westie.
