Just for the fun of it

Lacock Abbey

The visit was partly for the girls benefit, Lacock was used as a location for scenes in one of the Harry Potter films.

In one room, we spotted three bats, pipistrelles I think. Whilst looking at them hanging inside the top of a large fireplace a family walked in, I don't think I have ever seen a grown man move so fast at the mention of the word 'bats'!

The village is a picture, owned by the National Trust along with the Abbey. The village was of course the location for filming of Cranford, Pride and Prejudice and no doubt many other films.
