The Day of Two Conversations

First a 5.30 am start to catch our train to Lucknow.  Sitting next to us was a delightful Young Indian woman who we chatted to for 4 hours, sharing things about our lives, favourite books and films.  She was travelling with her family to Lucknow to celebrate an annual event to welcome spring in which they throw coloured powder or coloured water over each other!  She has recently finished university and is now a qualified IT engineer.

We arrived in Lucknow at 1.00pm.  It is a beautiful city.

The second conversation was intriguing.  Our group of 6 had dinner with the local royal family!  The Maharani and her son Prince Shivaraj entertained us in their historic home.  We thought that maybe there would be lots of other European guests but it was just us.  Topics discussed covered politics, food, education, technology...And of course cricket.  The Prince was great fun A very unusual gathering which included stepping over an 80 year old pet tortoise as it ambled along the corridor!  Probably never do anything like it again.  My blip is of their coat of arms to commemorate the unity of GB and India.

I have posted my Taj Mahal blip and removed the alligator collage as it had the wrong date and stopped me posting.  Sorry Legodude I lost your comment.
