Every Picture Tells .....

LNER 61264

SUNDAY

The sun was shining first thing and I headed over the moors to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway to see the first train of the day leave Oxenhope Station.

The steam locomotive pictured (61264) does not normally run on this line. The engine, built in 1947 pulled express passenger services between Nottingham, Leicester and London (Marylebone) until it was withdrawn in November 1965. It arrived here for last weekend's Steam Gala and will shortly be returning to the North York Moors Railway.

It's now raining and my planned gardening has been called off.
