Spring!
A delightful hike on a sunny afternoon, where we saw the season's first wildflowers! This is a photo of Douglas' Grasswidow. It was found in 1826 and named by the famous Scottish botanist, David Douglas, for whom hundreds of plants are named.
The extra is another very early, although less common wildflower, called Salt and Pepper or Lomatium piperi. It is quite tiny, only about 4 inches high.
