A Butterfly’s Burden

The rain continues, very fine, but nonstop. We have had 30mm in the last three days. I took a shovel about the garden and found that in places I have not watered this summer the rain has penetrated 3 or 4cm. Places that have been watered have absorbed the rain well.

I found this poor butterfly resting with a large load of water on its shoulders.
