Another journey...

... into local history.

The top picture from the Library Archives shows a department store prior to some rebuilding. The date is uncertain but another photograph of part of the building suggests this was probably taken around 1909.

The current view shows the building has remained a department store, through various owners. Quite a bit of exterior change to the building hides an interior which has been modified as they went along, with many changes in levels between floors.
