Evening sky, Monterosa

Again a view from the hotel room.

Well my ski holiday got off to the worst start possible! Only 2 hours on the slopes and I take a tumble, not a nice one. Had to be stretcher/toboganned off the hill, most interesting experience if I could have enjoyed it! Then ambulanced down the neighboroughing valley to the trauma clinic. Nothing broken only a tear of the medial ligament in my left knee, absolutely ........ painful! Then a wait of several hours till my husband skied on down to our valley, collect the car and proceed a tortuous hairpin road down followed by one of equal quality to get up the next! Our little hotel is a charming "rascard" on the hill above Champoluc. So, it's then a gondola ride back up the hill to be met by the owner's father on his snowtrack motor bike. A scary ride back to the hotel, but hey.....it's all part of the holiday.
No more skiing, plenty icing of injured knee ,lots of reading and sitting in the sun. Oh, and a wee glass or two of some local vino.
