Beauty in Dying

Again, a tough decision on the photo of the day. I chose this because of the metaphorical complexity within its simplicity. What I liked about this scene when I first saw it this morning, is the beauty of the fallen rose petals. There was something classic in the way they reflected the morning light, and it seems to make a statement about the beauty of aging and even dying. The roses and geraniums came from our yard, the old jar I found while doing tractor work on the Oakland property in Southern Oregon, the metaphor about aging and dying I found bouncing around my own gray skull.
