Dinosaur?

Dinosaur? Well maybe not quite that old but pretty ancient all the same. These class 43 locomotives were built between 1975 and 1982. Well despite being quite old it managed to get me from Aberdeen to London Kins Cross today and arrived on time.

It is not the fastest rail journey imaginable, Until it gets to Edinburgh the train seems to stop at just about every station along the way. Then even though it can supposedly achieve 125 mph the track is probably not suitable for such high speeeds.

It is only in the last stretch between York and London that it really seems to get going. It is advisable to keep hold of the coffee cup though, it is liable to be sent flying when the train gives a lurch.

Managed my first fruit tart for ages at Union Square while waiting to board the train.
