Experimental Photography Challenge

A fellow blipper Marcus Hediger is hosting a new challenge called Experimental Photography challenge (EP). I'm very excited about the idea and here is my input for this week's theme - aim is to create artistic impression using exposure. I visited Pirkkala's library in the evening and the photo is from there (S=1,6 s, A=16, ISO 100). Another one as an extra.

Public libraries in Finland are a service guaranteed by law. Library services are free for registered users, both adults and children alike. Public, academic and special libraries are well visited and used even on the internet era. There are 836 public libraries in Finland and the total annual lending was 18 items per citizen in 2011. Web visits now exceed physical visits.

The network of libraries in Finland have long played a key role in public education and in protecting and preserving the national culture and languages. Finnish libraries are open and free to everybody, including university and research libraries, the Parliament Library and the Finnish National Library. Several public libraries have welcomed Reading Assistant Dogs to help kids and adults with reading problems. Dogs listen patiently in spite of slow or clumsy reading. Children are taught how to make use of libraries before they’re old enough to go to school and this skill is an asset in the pursuit of lifelong learning. It’s fair to that the Finns love their libraries.
