Where l grew up

Today we travelled up the Coromandel peninsula on the west side, we drove up a beautiful road running along by the blue sea, looking over towards Auckland in the distance. As a child l lived on this peninsula and went to a tiny 3 classroom school and then to secondary school on a bus for an hour, driving through bush and rural countryside, picking up the farming children as we went. A beautiful, relatively carefree childhood.

The extra photo is of a scene witnessed throughout NZ, but particularly on the peninsula. As we left Thames this morning the busiest shop in town was the one selling fishing bait of one kind or another.
M's idea of NZ men is that they are either in a boat, getting in a boat or getting out of one - strikes me as a fairly nice life.
