Really? Again?

It is a topic I have visited more than once (see 13th February for an example), but one has to say again that Customer Service is not something that companies here excel at.  Or are even competent at.  Or are even on nodding terms with.

The lovely kitchen fitting company came back today, some 4 and a half weeks after screwing up their first attempt at providing us with a
new kitchen.  They had finally found a worktop that would fit, which meant that they could fix the untis to the wall, install a couple of
shelves and the extractor hood thing and the splashback behind the cooker.  And that would be that.

They had, as you may remember, measured everything with a laser measuring device so they knew the location of everything in the kitchen.

So it was a bit of a surprise when they turned round and said "We can't fit the socket here - that's outwith* our remit.  You'll have to hire an electrician (at your own expense), to finish the job that we said we'd do.  You remember, the job where we told you that would all be over in one day and you'd be delighted with it.  The job you're actually paying us real money for."

"Delighted" is not the word the springs to mind.  It may actually be one of the words I would not use in any circumstance to describe my
feelings as to how these shamateurs have gone about their business.

It is not a happy scene here.  And if you're thinking about ordering a new kitchen from Möbel Martin, don't.

And if you're thinking "It's not EVERY company that's like this in Germany, remember the electrician that came and sorted everything out in 5 minutes?"  I do remember that electrician, that'll be the one who sent us a bill for 200 Euro for those 5 minutes.

*It is a truth universally acknowledged, that if you use the word "outwith", everyone knows that you're from Scotland
