Wood Pigeon @ lunch

We are having a very dark,dismal grey day today! 
  But still the birds need their food.And I still need my blip!
I tried the Nikon 70-300 on the Nikon D800 today.But I think I was pushing it just a bit too far
   The D800's 36 mp sensor is pretty good.But still has limits?
