... blip again.

I have tried my best to line the shots up but, in order to take the 'today' photo at the same angle, I would actually have needed to stand in a very busy traffic lane. Some things are not worth doing even for a blip!

For once, the old photo can be dated exactly because this row of shops, in Kings Rd, was damaged by an exploding German bomb which demolished a large vacant house a few hundred yards away. A second bomb landed on the Majestic Hotel, almost exactly across the road from these shops, but fortunately didn't explode. The air-raid happened on September 12 1940.
