Balsa flowers

These tulips are made of super-thin balsa wood and a stalk of bamboo.
The flowers are made in Bali and exported to our country.

Balsa wood is the lightest type of wood which is generally commercially available. The wood is easy to work through the small mass but it should be done carefully. Because of the structure goes hand planing very laborious and is to be used in machining by milling, drilling or planing sharp tools. The wood is not connecting well with screws or nails but to glue. The wood is not suitable for bending.
