Ferry to an island

Made a trip today across the Solent to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Met up with an old friend, who is in fact the only ex college friend I've stayed in contact with since meeting her 30 years ago.

It was a bright, sometimes sunny, day but very cold with an icy wind. We spent some time indoors, first in lovely tea rooms next to the pier, and then a late and very long lunch in an old coaching inn.

Sue got her bus back to her home in Sandown and we braved the wind to walk along the coast.
We returned to Lymington on the 6pm ferry. It's been another great day.
