Telford Bridge

An afternoon trip to Bannockburn to complete my walk around the Heritage Trail, which I started two weeks ago. (It's not a long walk, but the weather turned miserable on that last occasion.)

One of the main features of the town is the Thomas Telford Bridge, built in 1819 over the Bannock Burn, and best seen here from Ladywell Park.

My circular walk on Wednesday took me through the park and into Balquidderock Wood, but the paths there were rather muddy after all the rain. According to the noticeboards, this is known locally as 'Bluebell Wood', so I think a return visit may be made later in the spring when, perhaps, the underfoot conditions are kinder.
