Bucklers Hard

This is an 18th C shipbuilding village in the New Forest where some of Nelsons Trafalgar fleet were built, notably Agamemnon. There are still boatyards but nowadays they are full of expensive yachts. The whole village is mostly in my blip and the buildings house a hotel, a pub, a chapel, a 17th shipworkers cottage and private housing.

On this cold blustery day we walked from Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard and back again . The path through the woods and along the river Beaulieu was very muddy although there are raised boardwalks in places.

In my extra can be seen some of the New Forest ponies that wander freely alongside ,and on, the roads throughout the forest.
