Night of Notables

Every spring the third graders do a project where they pick a  "notable" person, someone with noteworthy accomplishments in any field. They learn about the person of their choosing, write a speech, prepare a costume. Then on the Night of Notables the public gets to come and hear the individual students tell about their chosen person. There were so many of them, anything from past presidents, scientists, authors to sport figures. Queen Elizabeth was represented, Helen Keller, astronauts, Walt Disney, and even Jesus.
Ethan was Craig Sager, a sports reporter who died last December. Besides his talent and tireless work ethic, he was known for his colorful attire . So Ethan was all spruced up in a fancy jacket and tie. He did a great job with the speech, noticeably enjoying his role.
