The last of the summer flowers?

A quick blip as we finish all the packing and sorting before we set off for Dover early in the morning.

Our neighbour across the road from us is a wonderful gardener. Not only does she grow all kind of vegetables, but she also has lots of flowers. She puts us all to shame, but especially us who are no gardeners at all. However, we can all enjoy the fruits of her labours.

This is her garden wall and the grass in front of it is a banking at the edge of the road. A few years ago they spent almost the whole of one summer clearing the wall of years and years of growth and we all watched as gradually a beautiful and very old village wall appeared. Now our neighbour grows all kinds of wild flowers beneath it and it remains colourful throughout the summer. I love this particular combination of flowers, but feel that it is now past its best and is an indication that we are seeing the end of summer flowers, as Autumn looms.

Never mind! Tomorrow's blip will be from France.
