Clouds Retreat

This morning, after three days, the low clouds moved away and we had hot sunshine for a while. It didn’t last long. I didn’t even get my washing properly dry. In this shot the hills are still covered, except for the summit of Abners Head on the left.

During the sunny break I saw a lot of insects that have not been around most of summer. One that caught my eye was a robber fly (see extra). I immediately recognised him as the The Poser I blipped last month. I’d seen that one only face on and hadn’t realised what it was.
