Drama on Gay Street

Second day of second course completed. All happy ;)

More gorgeous sunlight and freezing temperatures. Classic Pennsylvania spring, apparently.

Walking down Gay Street, there's the alien sounds of an ambulance as it rips through the stillness of the evening. The Stars and Stripes hang limply outside the post office, as the silent dusk soothes the jagged wake of the emergency.

I treat myself to dinner at Phoenixville's fine dining establishment, Majolica, picking up a bottle of local Merlot from the Black Walnut winery on the way. Olives, almonds and rosemary while I relax into the bottle of red.

I start with beetroot and beef and have rabbit pasta to follow. The chef provides three little "amuse bouche" as well. Grilled snails with Parmesan. A champagne flute of a delicate cauliflower soup. Cantaloupe sorbet with deep fried prosciutto. No desert needed. I'm pleasantly stuffed and return home to watch Cider House Rules.
