Reading Station, then and now.

The fine looking building on the right is the original Reading railway station, now converted into a pub. To the left the large sweeping building is part of the new station. I remember clearly the old building, walking through what is now the pub entrance was once the ticket office leading through to the platforms. One of my earliest memories is of a day my Dad took me to the seaside, I can remember going through this building and the train was a Steam Train! - probably one of the last few in normal operation I would think. Although the new station today is very grand and efficient, I must admit I did like the way it was back in the 1960's. However, at least the old building is preserved and in use.
