The big chair

I was interviewed for my headteacher post sat in this chair six and a half years ago. It was rickety and ill considered, even then.
As of yesterday, this seat - or its modern alternative will be sat in by my successor in September.
It's been a very very difficult week and one in which I've seen the best of my colleagues and that which has contributed to my sadness in those who could have done better by the school and me.
I am sanguine and ready to look forwards.
