Magnolia stellata

This Magnolia stellata was one of the plants we brought with us from NE Scotland. We bought it 4 years ago with some garden tokens Mrs Catspaw was given when she left her job at the hospital to teach at the university. It never did that well in our NE Scotland garden. In particular, it never expanded its root sytem very much, so when we left for Sussex a year ago we were able to lift it quite easily and transport it down here in a pot.

It's now doing much better in the warmer climate down here. (It's also benefitting from our much-loved rabbit Norman, who died not long after our move here, and who we buried underneath it...)
