Great Orme Tramway

SUNDAY

I didn't sleep at all well.

We headed off from Denbigh to Lllandudno for afternoon tea. The journey took forever due to roadworks on the A55 and the fact that half of the population of Manchester and Liverpool had decided to visit the town during this sunny Spring weekend. The trip back to Denbigh took even longer.

A nice spread of sandwiches, cakes and drinks with the Welsh Clan to celebrate Mothering Sunday. A quick spin up to the top of the Great Orme and a shot of one of the trams. The tramway was built in 1902 and is Britain's only cable-hauled public tramway. It climbs 1500 m up to the country park at the top. Today was the first day of tramway operation for the 2017 season.

A two hour drive home on the A55, M56, M60 and M62.

I'm shattered and it's back to work tomorrow for a few days.

A little prayer too for my own mother (Mary) who sadly is no longer here in body. x
