The garden at Summer Lodge

Off to Summer Lodge again this morning for a lecture entitled  "Amedeo Clemente Modigliani 1884-1920".  He was an Italian-Jewish painter who spent most of his life in France and is noted for his long-necked almond eyed women, some of them nude.  He did paint many other characters too and his style progressed enormously since the age of 15 when he drew a fantastic portrait of his teacher Micheli's son.

After we all had had lunch in the hotel bar we enjoyed the beautiful garden with the Dorset countryside all around.
