Santa Clara

We were heading for Varaderro and stopped off in Santa Clara. We visited the place where Che Guevara and 18 revolutionaries brought down the Bapista regime using a bulldozer and Molotov cocktails. The blip shows the railway wagons that were derailed and contained the leading officials. Bullet holes are still visible. Then we visited the Che Guevara Monument, Mausoleum and Museum see extra.

It's an interesting town for the above reasons and also in the 1890's a female philanthropist Marta Abreu who improved conditions for the local people.
