Meall Dearg

Meall Dearg (Jerrack meaning red) is the peak to the left in the gap up ahead. Every hill has a story or claim to fame. In the world of Munro Bagging Meall Dearg is noteable for being the final hill to be ticked off by the first man in the world to do all the Munros. Its a tricky hill as modern day walkers will tend to combine it with another Munro to the west and this entails a very exposed ridge walk, claimed by some to be the most difficult on the Scotish Mainland. (By implication of the "Mainland" qualification Isle of Skye hill walking is scariest of all.)

There is tad of irony looking up at this graceful, sparkling skyline from the bottom of a muddy hole.
