Pegasus next door.

My elderly neighbour asked me to show her how to work her new dishwasher so while I was there I took the chance to photograph this unique sculpture which sits on her hearth and gives her great amusement.

It depicts some interesting Greek mythology with Apollo represented as the idea of youthful beauty sitting on Pegasus the winged horse accompanied by Midas punished for preferring Pan's music by being given the ears of a donkey !

The whole object is very heavy and was bought in Inverness but sculpted by someone I think from Kent. It is always a talking point when visitors see it for the first time.
