Charity swim, Bray

Maybe a bit premature to describe it as a regular thing, but still this is the second successive year that we made it down to Bray seafront for the New Year Sea Swim. Dave, at whose place we once again wonderfully rang in the new year (including round after drunken round of highly inventive and entertaining charades until 6.00 am), was the only one of our company who braved the elements and threw himself into the chilly water, but he had plenty of like-minded company, all of whom seemed to survive the experience.

Carl and I had threatened to call in on one of the Music Group guys with new year greetings, he texted to say we were welcome to drop in, and we arranged a time of 3.30. We had time to kill after breakfast in Bray, so stopped off in Greystones, down the coast, and Kilcoole. We had a good old chat over an Irish coffee, I dropped Carl back home, and got back to my own place around 6.00 pm. I wasn't fit for much after the hectic Christmas and New Year, so just listened to some music, watched some TV, and retired to bed with a book my midnight.

Best wishes for 2009 to everyone in Blipland. I'll be back later to do some back-blipping and fill in the most recent unsightly gap.
