Mountains

Paintings by Kim Osgood at Russo Lee Gallery, waiting to be hung for the April show (with permission).

I've heard this artist talk about her paintings.
She loves mountains. Climbs 'em, too.
This one seems to be blowing its top.
We live on the Ring of Fire that circles the Pacific Ocean.
The giants are restless.

This is how it is in the Age of Trump.
We cultivate our gardens and admire the fruitfulness of trees.
But in the distance the earth rumbles and the lava sloshes and smokes.
God help us.

NAPOWRIMO STARTS APRIL 1.

I may not join you for National Poetry Writing Month, but I encourage you to give it a try. Anniemay is sure to have something worth reading (and looking at).
The goal is simple: 30 poems in 30 days. But if you only manage one poem in 30 days, that's still an accomplishment!
If you never even read poems, try reading one. Or recite one you remember from childhood. Dr. Seuss is poetry. Lyrics are poetry. Bob Dylan's won the Nobel Prize in Literature.
If you find a poem you like, memorize it. That counts. Even one couplet.
Whenever you blip a poem, or something related to poetry, tag it "napowrimo2017" so we can all enjoy it.

I'll mostly be working on my new novel, but I may drop by and present you with a trifle—a haiku, a limerick, something small (for Tiny Tuesday!) or silly. Like this:

We'd like to see the poem you write!
Don't disappoint us, pretty please.
You'll soon be writing rhymes with ease.
They're sure to make our day seem bright.
