Philately will get you nowhere!

Just trying out this technique with the photoshop spherize (distort) filter which tends to be a bit hidden away and rarely used.  

I should really have done this with flowers and made it a 'flower friday' shot but I had in mind a table top picture using stamps I took years ago and wanted to recreate.

The full joke is - guy says to his girlfriend "You're more beautiful than any stamp in my collection",  to which she replies "Philately will get you nowhere"!
