Sortie de voitures

Our own sortie was not entirely successful. We both had separate meetings in Olonzac this afternoon, S his writing group and me the committee for organising cultural events. The plan then was to go to Narbonne for the Spanish/French conversation group I found on Meetup a couple of weeks ago. Last week it had been cancelled the day before, so I made sure to check before we set out that it was still on.

The venue was a tapas bar where we arrived with half an hour to spare. We had a drink and used the wifi, checked with the barman we were in the right place ... and when 15 minutes after the appointed time the organiser hadn't turned up, we gave up. However while we'd been waiting I had checked the showtimes for the new film with Catherine Deneuve and Catherine Frot, Sage-Femme. With an hour to spare before the film, we decided to go to a tapas restaurant near the multiplex which had been warmly recommended to us a few weeks ago. It was extremely disappointing -- we won't be going back. But at least it was cheap.

Then we got to the cinema to find that the online timetable was wrong, and Sage-Femme was the only film that wasn't on this evening. Sigh. So into the car and back home! At least I was able to add this door in Olonzac to my collection.
