Preparing for the day

The mornings are beautiful here at the moment.. warm and a hot breeze... we get up about 630 and Mr A goes to our vegetable plots to pick the produce for the day ... We have three large veg plots.. he takes care of two and I take care of one of them... he grows four varieties of beans, onions, big tomatoes, lettuce, garlic, leeks, chard, carrots oh and potatoes but the sanglier upearthed all of those this year... I grow the squash - butternut and spaghetti and courgettes, cherry tomatoes, aubergines, chillis and peppers and maize (sweet corn) and the flowers ..usually gladioli the really big ones and this year the seed company sent me some free seeds for these cactus dahlia ... and here they are... I picked some first thing this morning .. ... with Mr A in the background preparing the lunch for the day ...

I love the freedom that having our own produce gives us and of course the wonderful flavour of everything home grown ...
