Just a glorious day

Truly wonderful day in the Coniston Fells. Repeat of the walk I did earlier in the week but without the snow and ice and this time with Mr. B. We ascended the copper mines valley to Levers Water and then to Swirl Hawse. Climbed Prison Band to Swirl How and then took the ridge over Brim Fell to Coniston Old Man before descending the quarry route. Only 8 miles but some of those miles were quite tough and Mr B's legs are now aching.

There was some sort of fell run happening and many totally mad people kept running past us up ridiculously steep and rocky slopes. Met one of the local shepherds bringing his sheep in for lambing and he was bemoaning the fact that they like to hang around on inaccessible ledges making it difficult to get them down. He didn't have much faith in his young assistants so was preparing to climb up himself.
