Alpine delights

We fell in love with mountain flora fifty years ago in the Alps. It is a love which never dies.

Here is one section of my little Alpine house.
There are two more like this all down one side.
For those interested these beds are waist height resting on breeze blocks. They are filled with horticultural sand and the plants are in clay pots buried in the sand. The sand is kept moist as many of the plants don't like to be watered from above.

The shelves on the other side of the alpine house hold my cactus collection from May to September.

I don't really give enough time to the alpines as I spend too much time walking, blipping, listening to music and reading about American politics.
But they give much pleasure.
