Up in the hills

Having decided to walk in the hills this morning we left our friends to their own devices and set off through the village and out towards the cemetery where the path stops. There's about another mile of road walking before we see the path off to the right that takes us up through the Eucalyptus forest and where the spring flowers are in abundance. We've timed it just right this year and there is a riot of colour as we wend our way up the zig-zag track, climbing higher but facing back towards the village.

We set off at about ten thirty but JJ was intent on using his new camera to experiment with macro as well as landscape. Gibraltar became clearer behind us the higher we climbed.

We dropped back down into Mijas just after two and headed straight for the Chinese. Unfortunately a bus-load of Asians were just leaving and the place was a tip, so we left the owner to clear away and headed back to the hotel for a toasted sandwich and cold beer instead.

AH14 is staying a bus ride away and I'm hoping she will come up here on Thursday for a Spanish blipmeet.

The weather is perfect.
