Caen Hill Locks

These are just 16 of the 29 Devizes Caen Hill Locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal completed in 1819. It is spectacular even if you are only mildly interested in canals and the ingenuity of these industrial pioneers. This is the middle day of a short cycling break. We stayed last night in Hungerford.
