Gingko biloba

All the trees in the world are classified as either angiosperms (flowering) or gymnosperms (seed-producing without ovaries/fruits, like conifers). And then there are gingkos, so-called living fossils because they've been around since the Permian, about 270 million years ago. That's even before dinosaurs.

They have these pretty fan-shaped leaves. In Japan, the nuts are eaten. There is some speculation that eating it helps retard memory loss. There is some speculation that eating it... oh I already said that.
