White Village

A bright sunny day with a chilly breeze.

This morning we set off for a run out to Las Alpujarras and duly went on our way stopping at Ugijar in time for the Church Bells playing it's tune at 12.00 and a coffee.

However, instead of heading to Las Alpujarras, we instead headed towards the Sierra Nevada in the Granada Region for a change.   Winding roads up and up to the Mountain Villages.   The main picture is looking down the valley with the White Village of Mecina Alfahar perched on the hillside.

All along the route the views were spectacular with masses of wild flowers in full bloom.   I have included Poppies and wild Sweet Peas in extras.   Such a lovely time of year to visit.

As we climbed higher the skies became more overcast and the top of the mountains covered in cloud, so we headed back down, returning to Almerimar in brilliant sunshine.
