Solarised Landscape

On my way back from some shopping I stopped to photograph field of oilseed rape. It's the time of year when this crop is blooming and vast tracts of land is turned into a mass of vibrant yellow.  I had been reading about different techniques for b&w conversions in a recent copy of Amateur Photographer so thought I would try some out.

The solarisation is an interesting effect done by manipulating the tone curve into a V shape and the split toning has great potential giving different colourings to lights and darks.  I thought I'd better add in an extra of what I actually stopped to photograph roo!
