Ready and waiting...

D has done a grand job painting the skirting in preparation for the new stair carpet. After removing the old underlay before the fitters came this morning, judging by the paintwork we think there have been at least four carpets on these stairs. The dark boards show the original post war narrow strip...

All went very well and the new carpet looks good...my extra. It feels great under bare feet too!

A lovely evening with a friend and a very nice Thai meal too!
