On two wheels again

But pedal powered this time as we rode on a cycle route that follows the river just on the edge of the outskirts of Guilin. Very warm today, maybe only 25 degrees but humidity was high so we were sweaty Betty's.

I've added to the list of odd dishes today, eating slices of cow's udder and stomache, both cooked in a broth on a burner in a style of cooking called a hot pot rather in the style of a fondue. Neither was unpleasant so whilst I may not seek them out, I wouldn't avoid them either. Me Me (means 'little sister' but she is actually Carey's best friend) joined is for dinner tonight which was nice. We've known her as long as we've known Carey and a trip to China without seeing Me Me just wouldn't be right.

Forgot to mention Megan's devotion to Buddha in my previous blips. On day 1, when coming down the stairs from the vegetarian restaurant, there was a Buddha statue on the landing and unbidden she stopped, clasped her hands in front of herself and started bowing. She then did exactly the same thing at home when some music that she associates with Buddha came on on the TV. Very touching to see.
