Feeding Robins....

We received a good 3 inches of snow overnight and it looked like a winter wonderland this morning. Many birds and a few squirrels were in the garden looking for some food. One Robin came up to the front door looking for crumbs. They feed off of insects, worms and berries and none to be found today but in winter they will eat bread. I had some whole wheat bread in the kitchen and ripped it up for him. He was hungry as he did not fly away when I threw some out to him. He took a piece and flew away with it to under the bench to eat. Smart bird. He then looked at some seeds here to see if there might be any bread crumbs. I put out lots for a variety of food for my garden friends, the blue jays and squirrels were soon around for the peanuts. Happy and Snowy Squirrel Friday....see extras.
