The Gothic Cross - at Stowe

The Gothic Cross, originally installed in the Stowe gardens in 1814 was damaged beyond repair around 1950.

Now reconstructed using information from original fragments and a print from an 1827 guide. The material used is Coade Stone, as used in the original. (Coade Stone was invented in 1760)
