Lambing Time

I took Lexi to see the baby lambs at Coombes Farm today. We had a fabulous day. We saw many baby calves, piglets, chickens and lambs that had already just been born. We were allowed in one pen with a group of lambs and Lexi was humming 'twinkle, twinkle little star to this one as I took the shot. We watched as the poor ewes panted and pushed but to no avail.
So we went on a tractor ride, in a trailer attached to a tractor, up and over the fields, getting higher and higher on the South Downs, the view was amazing from up there.
When we got back we went to check on the ewes that were in labour before we left and they were still struggling to give birth. There are helpers on hand if any ewes have problems.
Then finally there was this little bundle of new life entering this world, see extras if you're not squeamish. I'm glad to announce 'proud mum and baby doing fine'.
