Kunst
That's "art" in German before anyone gets an attack of the vapours. Today we were at the Liebieghaus and the Schirn Kunsthalle for the Jeff Koons exhibitions (sculpture in the former and paintings in the latter).
I have to say I enjoyed the sculpture a lot more than the paintings. Unfortunately it says you are not allowed to take your camera in. Although that seemed to have been ignored by the guy with the big DSLR. Quite annoyed about that as I would have really liked a shot at fotografing the Popeye statue and the Venus with Flowers.
I thoroughly enjoyed the way the exhibition was set out at the Liebieghaus. It is full of art and statuary from the Middle Ages and to see his stuff integrated into that is really quite fun.
I was disappointed that there was nothing in the way of his garden installations. They looked brilliant when I saw pictures from the Basel exhibition. You can do google image search of "jeff koons fondation beyeler" to see what I mean.
It was a really good day. Helped by a telephone interview where I got complimented on my German again. Hooray for that.
